Since early 2008, SCT invests in a new business unit exclusively dedicated to medical implants applications. SCT combines its 30 year experience in biocompatible ceramics materials and 40 year experience in metal-to-ceramic sealing, to manufacture high-technology components as hermetic feedthroughs and hermetic housings for medical devices.

SCT hermetic housings and feedthroughs available for medical implant applications are manufactured with biocompatible materials: biocompatible ceramics, biocompatible metallizing and brazing materials, and biocompatible metal components.

Manufacturing process of the hermetic feedthroughs and hermetic housings
SCT has invested in new premises and equipments, and has at its disposal dedicated resources to produce implantable brazed ceramics as hermetic feedthroughs and hermetic housings for medical devices. These equipments are certified ISO 9001:2000 and in project for the ISO 13484 certification. SCT masters the whole process of the implantable brazed ceramics in the same unit.
